With increased clearance on the left hand side, and the addition of a 4" contact wheel, our Tri Platen will greatly increase the usability and flexibility of your Shop Mate 48's standard platen.

Boasting the tried and tested 150mm (6") long platen, 50 and 75mm (2 and 3") contact wheels, you also get a 100mm (4") contact wheel, greatly increased clearance on the left side of the platen and 2 different length slack belts both with extended clearance over the stock platen!

Tri Platen Attachment Upgrade Kit

The upgrade includes everything you need to upgrade your existing platen:

platen support with pre-installed spigot
4" contact wheel
short (200mm) platen arm

All you need to do is take the 2 wheels and platen off of your existing platen support and install them onto your new Tri Platen.

Tri Platen Attachment

The Tri Platen attachment comes with everything you need straight out of the box:

Fully assembled platen support
50, 75 and 100mm (2, 3 and 4") wheels
150mm (6") steel platen

Great improvement for my 2x48

I got the tri platen attachement a couple of weeks ago, I don’t have a 84 but it fits perfectly, it would be great if you could choose the mesure of the arm as well but I made an attachment and works perfectly fine, a game changer for me that’s for sure

Awesome new platen

Fabulous build quality as always. Super useful with the different sized 3 wheels, the different slack-belt options, and MUCH better clearance on the LHS for grinding bevels, especially when clamped to 123 blocks. Love it.

Shope mate 48 Tri Platen

Picked up the Tri Platen for my shop mate 48 grinder. Awesome addition to the grinder, adding not only the 4" wheel and the different choices of slack belt grinding that the tri Platen offers, but also gives more clearance on the left side of the platen from the tooling arm.

Shop Mate 48 Tri platen

I am really happy with the new shop mate 48 tri platen. The new design allows for more clearance on the left hand side which is great when using file guides. I love the ease and efficiency of the bonus four inch wheel, it really comes in handy when shaping handles.
A really great solid platen and a real improvement on the original.
Also I really appreciate the speed of which my order was processed. I received it three days after placing my order.
